About the Author

Daniella Hirschfeld is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Planning at the College of Environmental Design at the University of California Berkeley. She has worked with local communities on climate adaptation planning for 10 years through STAR Communities, ICLEI USA and The Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management. She holds a Masters of Environmental Management (MEM) from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment where she focused on groundwater and the risks of naturally occurring radium. Her current research focuses on climate adaptation planning, sea level rise, strategic decision-making and the development of resilient communities.
